Welcome you, O Ramadhan..!

Salam/peace to everyone…

Today is 21th of Sya’ban, which means Ramadhan is really near to us! 9 days to go for the most blissful month. Alhamdulillah/All praise be to ALLAH..

Just a quick check, what’s our feeling right now? Excited? Anxious? Nervous?

Well, what’s mine?

To be honest, this Ramadhan is the most nervous Ramadhan I ever had to be welcomed. Often, I am in doubt whether I am able/ chosen to be apart of the Guess of this blissful and special month or not. Perhaps, it is because this year is the most sorrow year I ever had. About few months I came to England, I have been informed few shocking death news which occurred all around my close one in Malaysia. When I think about them, what comes into my mind is ‘there’s no more ramadhan for them..’ which was my mom’s word during my dad’s funeral on the last 18th Rejab 1425H.

Really, that words makes my heart flusters. I keep asking myself; will I have Ramadhan then? Will the last ramadhan is my last ramadhan then? And ends up by praying to HIM; Oh Allah, grant me YOUR MERCY.. allow me to enter Your Ramadhan again… Really, deep inside me.. I am fear of being called to return to ALLAH before I could ask HIS FORGIVENESS all along this coming RAMADHAN.

How about yours, brothers and sisters? What do you feel? Are you ready for Ramadhan this year?

Anyway, I would like to share here few hadeeths regarding RAMADHAN MUBARAK. May this will help us to raise and increase our mood to welcome the most blissful month in ISLAM.

It is related by Abu Hurairah (RAA) that the Apostle of God (sallallaho alaihi wa sallam) said “When the month of Ramadhan comes, the Gates of Heaven are thrown open and the Gates of Hell are shut, and the devils are put behind bars” In another report, the “Gates of Mercy” are mentioned in place of the “Gates of Heaven”. [Bukhari and Muslim]

“When the first night of the month of Ramadhan (comes), the devil’s and defiant Jinn are bound in chains and all the Gates of Hell are closed and non of them remains open and all the Gates of Heaven are thrown open and none of them remains closed and the heavenly herald announces, “O seeker of goodness and virtue! come forward; and O lover of wickedness and evil-doing! Halt, and do not come forward” and a large number of (sinning) bondsmen are released from Hell at the command of God (i.e., decision of forgiveness and deliverance is taken for them), and all this takes place on every night of Ramadhan.” [Tirmizi and Ibn-i-Maja]

Jibreel came to me and said, ‘Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and does not have his sins forgiven and so enters the Fire, then may Allah distance him, say ameen.” So I said “Ameen” [Mustadrak al-Haakim]

Whoever fast in Ramadhan with firm belief and hope for (Allah's) reward, his past sins will be forgiven. [Al-Bukhari]

Here is a nasyeed for us as well.

We never sure when is the last Ramadhan for us to go.. Let's keep praying for this upcoming one..

اللهم بارك لنا في رجب وشعبان وبلغنا رمضان
“O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha’ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadhan.” [Musnad-e-Ahmed]
